IMPORTANT: All Loaded Projects Share the Same Program Settings

Click the Program Settings tab and you should see a screen similar to the following:

1. Set the Number of URL's to blog for each run.

This value represents how many blog posts will actually be made to your blog. The recommended setting is from 1 to 3. This means during each run either 1, 2 or 3 posts will be made to your blog. But you are encouraged to try different settings. As time goes on, it may be better to increase or decrease the number of posts being made.

2. Set the Time (in minutes) to wait between runs.

The recommended setting is 30 to 90 minutes. The maximum interval setting is 2,880 minutes (48 hours). You may also wish to try using 60 to 90 minutes. This means a post will be made to your blog at a random interval of 30 to 60 minutes. You can verify the different posting intervals by viewing the Show Log button once you actually started the Blog Auto Machine. Again, you are encouraged to try different settings over time since you may experience different results.

3. Select the content you wish to Post.

   Use Meta Description
- This setting will use your web pages Meta Description tag for content to post. If each page in your site    has the same meta description, this may not be the ideal option to select.

   Use Random Text - This setting will randomly select up to 400 characters from your web page for posting. This is the    recommended setting to begin with.

   Use BAM Tags - This option allows you to add special HTML tags to your web pages and BAM will only post the content between    those tags. This is a great option to use if your pages contain specific content you wish to post.An example of how to do this is as    follows:

   <!--bam start-->
   you content goes here
   <!--ban end-->

   Post HTML - This option can be used with any of the three options from above, but it is not recommended for use with the Meta    Description or Random Text settings. All HTML will be posted exactly as it is on your web pages. This includes javascript and    other content you may not want to post on you blog.

   NOTE: You should only use the POST HTML option with the BAM Comment tags so you can control exactly what gets    posted to your blog. Using HTML can have unpredictable results in your blog so you are STRONGLY encouraged to test    serveral posts to your blog when using this feature.

4. Set the Pingomatic delay.

This setting reduces the chances of pingomatic rejecting ping requests that occur too quickly. If you have seen the "Slow down cowboy" message from Pingomatic, then you are pinging too quickly. The recommended setting is a minimum of 30 seconds and could be set to 45-60 seconds. You should check your Log to see if you are getting the "Slow down cowboy" message back from pingomatic. If so, you should adjust your settings higher.

5. Set the Ping URL.

Enter the Ping URL you wish to use. The recommended URL is http://rpc.pingomatic.com since this service pings multiple other services for you. You can also use the Yahoo URL which is http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping?u=[URL]. Examples of both look like:

   http://rpc.pingomatic.com
   http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping?u=[URL]

NOTE: BAM will automatically replace the [URL] value with each of your blog URL's automatically. You only need to add the Yahoo ping URL one time exactly as show above.

To Edit or Delete any of the existing Ping URL's, select them fro the list and select the Edit or Delet button.

6. Proxy Server

Blog Auto Machine supports the use of Proxy Servers. This can help in future situations where other services used in the Blog & Ping process decide to restrict posts or pings made by the same IP address over a consistan period of time. Enter the IP address and Port number for your selected Proxy Server.

A list of free Proxy Servers may be found at: http://www.publicproxyservers.com/index.html

Please note that some of the proxy servers provided in the free list may not be stable and may have connectivity issues. You should monitor your log files consistently when using the free services. If you search online, you can find reliable proxy services that charge a small monthly fee.

7. Save Your Changes by clicking the Save Changes button.
